Crackdown on Unlicensed Beauty Clinic in Antalya

In Konyaaltı district of Antalya, a beauty center offering filler and mesotherapy services was sealed off by authorities for operating without a license, following advertisements on social media. The business was shut down through a joint operation conducted by the District Health Directorate and the District Police Department.

The incident occurred in the Öğretmenevleri neighborhood of Konyaaltı district. The District Health Directorate monitored announcements made on the business’s website and social media accounts, eventually filing a complaint with the Republic Prosecutor’s Office. Investigations revealed that the facility was performing medical procedures that could negatively affect human health without a license and the necessary qualifications.

During the inspection, various brands of 7 filler materials, 18 dermapen needle tips, and 2 dermapen devices were confiscated at the establishment. Additionally, 12 banned products, a mesotherapy device, and a laser-carbon peeling device were also sealed. These products were found to be used for procedures that should only be performed by specialist physicians, and it was determined that the business was offering these services off the books.

Legal and administrative proceedings were initiated against the owner of the business and the involved personnel. The sealing of the business’s operations by health and security directorate teams is considered a deterrent measure to prevent similar violations in the area. District Health Directorate officials warned the public to only receive services from licensed health institutions and emphasized that interventions at such places could lead to serious health problems.

This incident in Antalya has once again highlighted the risks of providing health services via social media and the internet. Authorities stated that they will continue to pursue such illegal activities and will take decisive and clear actions against elements threatening public health. Moreover, it was mentioned that the number of seminars and trainings organized to raise public awareness will be increased.

This raid also indicates that inspections of similar beauty centers across Antalya will be intensified. Citizens were cautioned to be more careful when receiving health services and to only work with authorized institutions. It was reminded that procedures performed by non-experts, especially in aesthetic and cosmetic interventions, could cause irreversible damages.
