New Measures for No-shows at Hospital Appointments

Health Minister Fahrettin Koca announced new measures targeting citizens who do not attend their scheduled hospital appointments. From now on, citizens who miss a scheduled appointment will not be able to make another appointment in the same department for 15 days. If a person misses their appointments consecutively twice, they will lose the right to make an appointment in any department for 15 days.

Health Minister Fahrettin Koca stated that these new measures were implemented to address the glitches and capacity problems in the current appointment system at hospitals. The new practice aims to reduce congestion in hospital appointment systems and provide more efficient service.

We Will Permanently Solve Appointment Issues

Minister Koca emphasized that they are focusing on the problems in hospital appointment systems and creating permanent solutions. “Citizens who fail to show up for their appointment for the second time will not be given an appointment in any health branch for 15 days. With these measures, we will end the appointment mishaps and capacity issues in hospitals,” said Koca.

The Health Minister also shared details about the appointment and capacity issues in hospitals and other health institutions after a Cabinet meeting. “Some of our hospitals and departments are experiencing serious capacity utilization issues. This situation stems from both citizens who make appointments and do not show up, and our hospitals’ capacity management problems. With the new measures we are introducing, we aim to permanently solve these issues,” Koca explained.

New Measures for Those Who Miss Their Appointments

Minister Koca noted that last year, the number of citizens who made appointments and did not go to the hospitals was 23 million, and in the first three months of this year, this number was 6 million. Addressing this issue, new measures have been taken to increase loyalty in the appointment system.

Under these new measures, citizens who miss their appointments will not be able to make another appointment in the same branch for 15 days. Additionally, restrictions will be increased on citizens who make last-minute cancellations. “With these new practices, we aim to minimize idle capacity in our hospitals and provide timely health services to every citizen,” said Koca.

The new measures are expected to make the appointment system in hospitals more efficient, providing faster and more effective health services to citizens.
